CDC or Cul de Canard feathers are the ever popular soft feathers which are used in “F” Flies that grow near the ducks preen gland. These feathers are prized for their natural waterproofing and air trapping qualities, which make each individual feather incredibly lifelike on the water’s surface. CDC feathers are superb for tying various dry or emerger fly patterns.
